Open Fridge - Food Waste & Shortage Mobile App

Challenged to tackle a social issue through design, I chose to address two interconnected problems: food wastage and food shortage. I created Open Fridge—a community-driven mobile app where users can deposit leftover food for others to collect. In return, participants earn points, unlock rewards, and compete with friends on who can donate the most. The app aims to foster local sharing, reduce waste, and ease food insecurity through gamification and social engagement. The full prototype and brand system were developed in Figma.
